TORONTO, ON (November 23, 2008) – Brown Eyes Entertainment is thrilled to present The BIG THREE-O in celebration of Mista Jiggz’ 30th birthday. This event will feature two of the best DJs in the world, the acclaimed DJ Jazzy Jeff and Canada’s own DJ Starting From Scratch performing together on four turntables. Separately, these two DJs can bring a crowd to their feet; in collaboration, nothing short of fever pitch excitement will arise from the dazzling wizardry of these two masters at work. Birthday boy Mista Jiggz will also step up to the decks, joined by the official Toronto Raptors’ DJ crew 4Korners, plus Brassmunk’s acclaimed producer/dj Agile alongside Brown Eyes Entertainment’s DJ Dano and Montreal’s DJ Soul. The event will also feature special guest host Skillz.
DJ JAZZY JEFF
DJ Jazzy Jeff has released 5 albums in 7 years, sold 14 million records, won 2 Grammy Awards and 3 American Music Awards. Well-known worldwide for his collaborations with Will Smith (as the Fresh Prince,) they took the world by storm with their song “Girls Ain’t Nothing but Trouble,” second album “He’s the DJ, I’m the Rapper” and its hit single “Parents Just Don’t Understand,” which was one of the first hip-hop songs to chart on the Billboard Music Singles. Around the same time, Jeff entered and won the DMCs, the foremost global DJ’ing championship. Not content with only musical notoriety, Jeff joined Will Smith on the hit television show “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” for its entire 6-year run, as his best friend “Jazz.” He released “The Magnificent,” his first solo album, in 2002; featuring his trademark scratches and a variety of emcees and artists who were working out of his production facility A Touch of Jazz. Recently, Jeff released the critically acclaimed mixtape entitled “He’s the King…I’m the DJ” in honour of the late entertainer Michael Jackson. He is also one of the featured dj’s in the new video game “DJ Hero.”

DJ Starting From Scratch, cited recently as one of the “100 Most Influential People In The Music Industry” by Vibe Magazine, has been exciting club crowds for over 15 years both across Canada and overseas from Europe to Australia, to Africa, the Caribbean to Latin America. He’s worked in the studio with music icons in many genres like John Legend, Faith Evans, Beenie Man, Doug E. Fresh and the Fugees. NOW Magazine named him the best Toronto hip-hop DJ (2008) and as such, he can be heard daily on Toronto’s Flow 93.5FM during the afternoon and evening drives (Traffic Flow Mix Show and the Critical Mix) as well as throughout the country at club and concert engagements weekly. Scratch is also the official tour dj for comedian Russell Peters, r&b star Usher as well as SONY recording artist KeshIa Chante.
