Nominated for Two CAMA awards, and Five APCMA awards, Plex brings “the true essence of hip hop” to audiences across North America

image003As an artist, Plex is dedicated to layering culturally relevant commentary on top of beats that beg his crowds to groove. Thought-provoking but never preaching, Plex’s lyrics challenge popular opinions and shed light on the truths that unite us all. Building on the same creative goals, Plex is producing two upcoming records through his label, New Leaf Entertainment, which also focuses on empowering youth to overcome their personal struggles, communicating with them through the language of hip hop.

Plex also won Best Hip-Hop single at the 2009 North American Indigenous Image Awards, and is nominated for a stunning five categories at the upcoming Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards.

Plex has strong ties to his roots and he uses his status to inspire others through community outreach projects. He’s committed to mentoring struggling youth and helping them pursue their talents and dreams in spite of difficult circumstances, and enjoys taking these messages to platforms including theimagineNATIVE Film Festival’s Awards Ceremony that he hosted on October 18th,, 2009.

Plex has performed on 300 stages across Canada and the US, and has made numerous appearances on TV programs, including MTV Cribs. He’s also the former host and producer of The Plex Show, a syndicated radio program that won the 2008 ImagineNative Film Festival’s award for Best Arts and Entertainment Radio Program (presented by Astral Media).

Born and raised in the ghetto in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Plex is now the President and CEO of New Leaf Entertainment, a Toronto-based record and entertainment label powered by a collective vision to unite urban artists with the mainstream market.
