Guests will have an experience rich with historic photography, exciting videos, interactive displays and of course, race cars with the combined power output of 50,000 horses! See how this sport literally grew from the first dragster (a 10-foot long car known as “Bug”) up to Kenny Bernstein’s record setting 300 MPH Top Fuel Dragster with an incredible length of 32-feet! Learn how Super Stock cars like the 1963 Plymouth called “Melrose Missile” helped shape the musclecar movement, and how altering a vehicle’s wheelbase for weight transfer led to creation of the “Funny Car”. Experience a 3D snapshot in time in a diorama featuring the famous Stone, Woods, and Cook 1941 Willys Gasser as it sits ready to leap when the light turns green. Dragsters, Funny Cars, Alterds, Gassers, Pro Stock, Super Stock, and drag bikes will all be on display. NHRA: Sixty Years of Thunder was created with assistance by the National Hot Rod Association and the NHRA Museum. This exhibit opens at the Tribute Night and runs through May 29, 2011.
The events on November 10 will begin with the 2 p.m. panel discussion, Match Race Madness, featuring drag racing’s greatest rivalry: Snake vs. Mongoose. Captivating, almost eerily cult-like. Maybe that´s because their audience was glued to “You Tube” when they broke and no one knew whether they were just a stupid joke or a really clever one.
Die Antwoord (The Answer) became an internet sensation without management or record labels because they are weird and because people pay attention long enough to try and figure them out. They’re trash, they’re angry, they’re outsiders and they’re milking every moment in the spotlight. I think they know exactly what they are doing.
Sunday´s show at the Phoenix was a high budget version of their “You Tube” videos but with costume changes and visual effects. The beats were retro rave and no one can argue that they “can” rap. Yolandi with her child like voice sounds like an audio effect in itself. If I didn’t know better, I’d say she was bouncing around and wiggling her backside to the audience, pulling down her gold lamé spandex just low enough to see the moon as if to mock us. Ninja also used his sex to sell, swinging his junk around in his
loose “Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon” boxer shorts. The triangle clearly outlining ‘we should look here’ was unnecessary as we’ve all seen the “Zef Side” video that started it all. Please don’t become a parody of yourselves.
People come to the show to see what the hype is about – no one cares if they are cursing in native tongue. They could be rapping about cake recipes and it will still sound the same to us foreigners. Bottom line is Die Antwoord best be careful they don´t get repetitive on a big budget. They put on an a pretty entertaining show but the sex and cursing make me roll my eyes.

Halloween is but a few short days away so it’s time to celebrate early and often with a horrifying helpin’ of PUSSYFOOT…
The OCTOBER 2010 show finds the ghoulie PF gang ready to haunt your headz…First up, grim radio reaper EDDIE ROUSE lends his trademark hell-raising rasp to a trifecta of listener write-ins…Then, BLAKE ‘Count Ghoulstein’ EVERETT diabolically disembowels a duo of depraved DVDs–the ’80s splatterfest ‘Blood Diner’ and the odd nonfiction opus MULESKINNER BLUES. Lastly, MISS SHELLEY makes mention of a sci-fi scribe whose pen has run dry…eternally…
Our keynote guest this month: actor, author, and horror raconteur DEL HOWISON. With his distinctive wispy white hair and matching mustache, Howison is the iconic veteran of low-budget horror flicks like ‘The Erotic Rites of Countess Dracula’ and the upcoming ‘Dahmer vs. Gacy.’ When he isn’t inducing fear onscreen, Del can be found behind the counter at DARK DELICACIES, the only exclusively-horror-themed bookshop in the United States. Located in downtown Burbank, the Del-owned store is a haven for horror fans, monster kids, and last minute Halloween shoppers alike. In a truly terrifying PF interview, Howison opens up about his lifelong pursuit of depravity…
And, in a Pussyfoot exclusive, caretaker DANIEL TAYLOR gives the ‘Foot an all-access pass to STATION 23. A ghastly gem tucked-away in Los Angeles’ skid row neighborhood, Station 23 is an obscure footnote in LA’s filmic history. Even the savviest of cineaste probably doesn’t know that this LA firehouse served as a location for scary classics like ‘Ghostbusters’, ‘Flatliners’, ‘V.I. Warshawski’ and ‘Big Trouble in Little China’. Taylor recounts the building’s surreal cinematic glory days while Matt and Matt assemble a shot-for-shot, ‘then and now PDF’ re-staging of your favorite ‘Ghostbusters’ scenes from within the massive structure.
All that, plus a somewhat scary assemblage of spooky tunes from Lora Logic, Screamin’ Lord Sutch, Joe Meek, Scientist, and the always delectable Big Lurch.

Beats, rhymes and life have done changed; but the saying remains the same: it’s not where you’re from, it’s where you’re going. Winnipeg based emcee LEN BOWEN is the fine line between hip hop’s golden age and the unknown territory in which this culture is now headed.
Len Bowen’s music is what you miss about Hip Hop and what you look forward to hearing. “Im a throw back to rhymers who made you tune out the beat”. Rhyme to Bowen is like science and mathematics. He’s an addict gliding over beats…killing 16s. The flow is smooth yet complex. He gives so much of himself in every verse. Len the stranded emcee, lonely and left with fire beats to rock. The future is hot. Stay tuned.
Expect to see Mr. Bowen appear in various releases and mixtapes in the near future. His previous project have done seen the number one spot on college radio charts and the spotlight on MuchMusic’s sought after RapCity play list.
Now time for the newness, the next page, the remix, the come up. The release “Long Story Short” (EP) is now available on URBNET and iTunes.
Capitol Records artist TRISH has managed to create a new and innovative sound that shifts the genres of Rhythmic/Pop to another realm. Her hypnotic vocal tone paired with obscure, thought provoking lyrics will captivate you and command your body to move.
Hieroglyphics member and Oakland native Casual releases a video for “Rock My Shit” from his upcoming album He Still Think He Raw produced by DJ Fresh. From the get go the camera focuses on Casual and his car, alternating between the engine, Casual’s toothpick and screeching tires. The song breathes Bay Area from its snappy bass drums to drifting electronic snowflakes and echoing synths. Not to be overshadowed by DJ Fresh’s efforts behind the boards, though, Casual is a true tour de force on the mic. “This album is full of braggadocio, which at my age seems immature,” says Casual. “But being able to boast and say clever egotistical things is still a big part of hip-hop, and this album allows me to express that side of myself.” For fans anticipating Casual’s deeper side, rest assured the wait won’t be long, as he’s currently prepping a second album for 2011,The Hierophant, which will continue to display the emcee’s diversity.
He Still Think He Raw, being released in 2011, will feature Mitchy Slick & FAB, Grouch, Young Gully, Hongry, Yukmouth, and of course members of Hiero.

MP3: Muja Messiah – “Leech Lake” (Click to download)
“Leech Lake” is the new Minnesota anthem. Touching on all things relevant in 45-degrees north and the land of “Yeah, yeah, you betchya,” Muja Messiah crafts a powerful song that hits close to home, while maintaining the wit and good-humor that comes with living under snow for half of the year.
The city comes alive with shout outs to ice fishing with white women, Bob Dylan, Jimmy Jam & Terry, big spoon with a cherry, Liquor Lyle’s, Pizza Luce, fried walleye dinners, snow boarding, recording, Denny Hecker, Gophers, Vikings, Friedman’s, Somalian Crips, Jesse Ventura, Keith Ellison, Verb X, Kalid El-Amin & Brock Lesner in this celebratory track.
But the real line the strikes at the heart of Minne-snow-ta is: “Shotgun a beer / shotgun a deer … We all about beautiful women, I’m talking Robyn Robinson, Black Blondie, Lucy Michelle, my little girl Niani.”
Muja Messiah’s new mixtape, M-16s, is out now on Black Corners.
