Just in time for the holiday shopping season, BBP Bags expands their lineup of urban and functional bags with two new products that make perfect holiday gifts this year: the DSLR Slinger™ with iPad™ slot and the Industries Backpack™ in Grey Plaid. In the holiday giving spirit, BBP Bags launches their Got Yo Backpack™ Campaign, a new backpack donation program. BBP Bags is the first in the industry to donate a backpack to select local and national charities for every bag purchased directly from their website.
DSLR Slinger™ with iPad™ slot
“DSLR cameras take excellent photos but are cumbersome to carry around,” said Sean S. Lee, Founder and CEO, BBP Bags. “BBP Bags’ DSLR Slinger™ is designed as an ergonomic sling bag for easy carrying and is fully functional with numerous compartments for a full-size DSLR, a flash, additional lens, and even an iPad™ for viewing and editing photos on the fly. This innovative DSLR sling bag is great for a professional photographer on the move or even a budding amateur.”
Industries Backpack™ in Grey Plaid
Plaid is all the rage, but not everyone wants a loud multicolor plaid as their everyday laptop bag. The grey plaid fabric exclusively developed by BBP Bags is understated yet unique against a sea of traditional black laptop bags. The ergonomic backpack design is great for comfort while the well-padded laptop compartment protects valuable laptops. The additional luggage-handle pass-through, numerous pockets and unique bottle holders with elastic securing leashes make it an all-around functional and stylish backpack.
Got Yo Backpack™ Campaign
“Giving back is one of our core values and we take it seriously,” said Lee. “BBP Bags developed a special student backpack to support education in the U.S., especially in urban and low income communities.” For any bag purchased on their website, BBP Bags will donate a Got Yo Backpack to a local or national charity. BBP Bags has already committed to donating 150 Got Yo Backpacks for this holiday season, with the goal of donating 1,000 more in the 2011 back-to-school season.
After witnessing the devastating impact of AIDS in Malawi, Canadian recording artist Prita Chhabra announced today that she is joining the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR) as its newest ambassador in the fight to end AIDS through research.
Chhabra will help CANFAR raise awareness about the importance of research as the only solution that will end the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Chhabra was visiting Malawi when she was first touched by the HIV/AIDS cause. Inspired to follow her musical dreams, she began using song to share the stories of people affected by HIV/AIDS.
Chhabra has become a familiar new face in the Canadian pop music industry, and has now partnered with CANFAR to help put an end to AIDS. She is also very proud to be the first recording artist of South Asian heritage to be appointed as an ambassador of a national Canadian charity.
“When I was in Malawi, I met so many children orphaned because AIDS took their mothers and fathers. I want to live in a world where no child has to grow up without their parents because of this horrifying disease,” said Chhabra. “That’s why I am working together with CANFAR – because I believe we can end AIDS through the incredible research being done right here in Canada.”
Chhabra will be working with CANFAR to reach out to Canadians and explain the importance of funding Canadian AIDS research through her many concerts and school visits. Her first appearance as a CANFAR ambassador takes Chhabra to speak to students at Pierre Elliott Trudeau high school in Markham, Ontario on December 1, observed internationally as World AIDS Day 2010.
“We are thrilled to have Prita join the CANFAR team,” said Christopher Bunting, CANFAR’s President. “Her talent, energy and compassion are fantastic assets in the fight against AIDS and will help us spread the message that we can end AIDS together, through research.”
“Canada is incredibly well-equipped to find a cure for AIDS. We have top-of-the-line facilities in our hospitals and universities, and we have the brain trust in the scientists searching for a cure,” said Chhabra. “Through CANFAR, Canadians have an opportunity to contribute to research that has the power to change the world. Together, we can find the cure for AIDS.”

The Lincoln Rising’s Fundraising Dinner and Birthday Partyis a very special event in honor of Lincoln J Russell. Sunday, December 26, 2010, Director X, and friends are coming together in support of their long time friend, Lincoln J. Russell, at an exclusive Fundraising Dinner hosted by DRAKE, including a performance by Aion Clarke with Noah “40″ Shebib on the Keyboard. Lincoln, a former stunt man and rising star in the martial arts community of Toronto was diagnosed with CIDP (Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating), an acquired immune-mediated inflammatory disorder of the peripheral nervous system. This debilitating disease is believed to be due to immune cells, which normally protect the body, doing the opposite, attacking the nerves. Lincoln has gone from lost feeling in his legs to a wheelchair to a hospital bed and not being able to sit up, unassisted. This is an annual event in Celebration and support of our friend Lincoln. Canada’s health care system is exceptional but does not cover the cost of all treatments or the operations that would allow Lincoln to get back on his feet again. Director X is asking for your help. As the leaves slowly but surely spiral to the ground, another brisk episode of PUSSYFOOT comes a-blowin’ in with the autumnal wind. For the NOVEMBER 2010 episode, Matt and Matt have dreamed up a sexified Fall fantasy indeed…
First up, the big man of the big screen BLAKE EVERETT gives us the skinny on a couple of terse dramatic features. In a standout ‘Blake at the Movies’ our resident film funkmaster breaks-down Naomi Watt’s sultry turn as a real-life CIA operative in ‘Fair Game’ (in-theaters). He then puts his professional admiration for flaxen-haired former teen star Chad Allen aside in a spirited review of the new-to-DVD thriller ‘Ice Blues’. Next, MISS SHELLEY stops by the ‘Foot facilities to pay spiritual homage to a pioneering rasta sista who has sadly smoked her final spliff–hearmenow! And rounding things out quite nicely (?), internet-radio’s raspy voice of reason EDDIE ROUSE unleashes his verbal wrath upon three female fans that find themselves in an array of moral pickles. If you think you’ve heard every which way The Rouse can de-louse his listeners, please believe Mr. Clickety Clack hits new highs (and lows) with this month’s madness.
Our keynote guest this month, a spicy screen siren from south of the border: KITTEN NATIVIDAD. Known for her exuberant exotic dance style and eye-popping 44-inch chest (more on that later, kids) a young Kitten hitched her busty wagon to sexploitation master RUSS MEYER in the 1970s. With memorable supporting roles in ‘Supervixens’ and ‘Up!’ under her garter belt, it was not until 1979′s redneck-sex-romp ‘Beneath the Valley of the Ultravixens’ that Meyer fully tapped-into Natividad’s considerable talent as a lead performer. When the camera’s came to a halt, the sizzle continued with Kitten and Russ beginning what would become a long standing off-the-set relationship. In an exclusive interview, an eager Kitten gives us a peek into late Mr. Meyer’s personal life–touching on everything from his volatile run-ins with the Sex Pistols to his various collaborative efforts with a nascent Roger Ebert. And, while she’s on the hotseat, Matt and Matt grill this feisty Latina on the intimate details of Sean Penn’s bachelor party, the hayday of Hollywood’s Body Shop, and her triumph over the evil forces of breast cancer. To say that Kitten Natividad has become a beloved member of the ‘Foot family is an understatement. We urge you to tune-in to this truly titilating XXXpose.
All that plus a musical harvest highlighted by the likes of Crunchy Black, Lumerians, Figures of Speech, The Screamers, and Furious Pig.
So join us, won’t you, for squeals and screams in equal amount…eerily online at http://www.thehomeofpussyfoot.com/email/EmailFlier101130.html

Brand new. “All Comes Back To One” – the new single and video from Jahdan Blakkamoore’s upcoming album with Lustre Kings
Referred to by the Village Voice as “the authentic connection between Reggae and Hip Hop”, Jah Dan is actually much more. Jahdan Blackamoore has created his own wholly unique path to success. He is at once unclassifiable and exists within a genre all his own.
Born in Guyana, Jahdan Blakkamoore moved to Brooklyn, NYC as a teenager and quickly immersed himself in the best music the city had to offer. As he matured, hip-hop heads came to know Jahdan for his lyrical collaborations with DJ Premier, Afu Ra, Boot Camp Click and Dead Prez. Reggae and Roots fans began to know him from his band, Noble Society, collaborations with Lutan Fyah and Norris Man or his recent collaboration (co-written by Lustre King’s Andrew ‘Moon’ Bain) with Diplo and Switch on their Major Lazer project. Teaming up again with Andrew ‘Moon’ Bain (Digital Ancient), Jahdan has crafted his testimonial masterpiece with Babylon Nightmare.
Music is the most powerful means of expression we have, and an artist’s music conveys the deepest reflections of their emotions, evoking a unique experience in each person that hears it. The music of Neo Tempus embodies this description. He brings honesty, vulnerability, and personality to his music in a refreshing way that captivates his audience and leaves them wanting more. As a producer, engineer, and artist, Nicholas “Neo Tempus” Antwi is a triple threat. With a love for anime/manga infused into his work, Neo Tempus delivers stories of his own experiences through his music, and touches on his take on the struggles and hypocrisies of society.

Zoon van snooK is the alias of Bristol Weirdsmith Alec Snook. Following keyboard/sample duty for numerous experimental Indie bands in the South West of England, which included national touring, festivals and support for acts such as Skunk Anansie, I Am Kloot and BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, the debut Zoon van snooK 12” EP was released on acclaimed Brighton label Cookshop at the end of 2008. This garnered radio support from BBC’s Rob Da Bank, Tom Robinson, Stephen Merchant and lead to his debut hour mix for Ninja Tune’s inimitable Solid Steel. Since then remix duty has included Fujiya & Miyagi, Ernest Gonzales, Lost Idol and James Yorkston and has paved the way for collaborations with Daedelus, James Yuill, Minotaur Shock, Grasscut and many more. Never afraid of a beguiling melody and always blurring the lines between experimental and accessible, Zoon van snooK produces evocative audio mosaics which offer something new with each listen.
Ghostface Killah, a great contender for the title of most favorite member of Staten Island’s inimitable Wu-Tang Clan, has become something of a love song ace. Many of the singles he’s released since 2007′s The Big Doe Rehab, between the Ne-Yo hooked “Back Like That” to two Raheem DeVaughn-aided cuts on last year’s criminally slept on Ghostdini: Wizard Of Poetry, have been a cavalcade of love lost and gained. “Together Baby” is a soul sample-laded hook, bombastic ninja-versed yearn for Ghost’s dream girl. And if she fulfills all the requirements, there are promises of much Nuvo and Patron, a cocktail it seems he’s referring to as Jimmy Neutron. But it wouldn’t be a Ghostface song without lyrical question marks.
“This mix is sort of a cross between what I do at XS on the weekends, and stuff that’s just good hip-hop – you can define for yourself what’s what,” says Pizzo “This mix is – shocker – fully blended. I don’t fuck with explosions, wack transitions, or screaming over the music to make up for bad mixing. It’s formatted to start off Saturday night and then get you home early Sunday morning. Enjoy.”
With the new fall / winter collection 2010 Malph has been exceeded, using the usual applications of non-conventional materials. We speak of artificial turf for soccer field, we speak of a true doormat attached on the chest of the sweatshirt, we speak of a keyboard connected with a real cable to the hood that becomes the monitor. Fashion and art (pop). And all Italian ideas.
Five Day Weekend and Traffic Entertainment are proud to announce the release of 80 Blocks From Tiffany’s, director Gary Weis‘ 1979 documentary about the South Bronx and its gang culture. The previously unavailable film is now out on DVD, marking the first time it has been offered to the public in decades, and is accompanied by a handful of exciting bonus features.
Director Gary Weis was still working as a short film creator for Saturday Night Live when he came up with the idea for 80 Blocks after reading a Jon Bradshaw article, “Savage Skulls.” Published in a 1977 issue of Esquire Magazine, the piece centered on two gangs based in the South Bronx at the time — the Savage Nomads and the Savage Skulls. Weis became infatuated with the story and, soon after striking up a dialogue with Bradshaw, he convinced SNL producer Lorne Michaels to help him produce the film. Just two years later, in 1979, Weis and Bradshaw brought a camera crew to speak with members of both gangs, along with police officers, community activists, and civilians.
Despite its role as an important and unflinching portrait of a profoundly interesting time in New York and, as pointed out by The New York Times, hip hop’s cultural history, 80 Blocks was, for many years, impossible to find, only briefly available as an educational VHS release in 1985. In the time since its initial release, the documentary has gained an overwhelming cult status. With little to no news coverage over the decades since its release dedicated fans continue to buzz about the film, especially now that the internet has provided fans common ground to fondly look back not only the documentary itself, but the era that it captured so vividly. The Times, in their recent coverage of its release, noted that copies of the documentary have been known to sell for up to $300 on eBay, a seemingly staggering figure until one considers the depth of its reach.
For the first time in 25 years, the film is easily available to the public on a DVD including interviews with producer/filmmaker Weis and director of photography Joan Churchill, as well as a 40 page book comprised of the original “Savage Skulls” article, an essay by David Hollander, and artwork by Julian Allen. Publications such as New York Press and the Amsterdam News have called the film a “time capsule,” but even without the element of nostalgia, 80 Blocks holds up as a portrait of a subculture that might have otherwise been forgotten, as well as an important moment in cinema.
