Мишка x Psychic TV Capsule Collection + Genesis Breyer P-Orridge Interview
Our clothing line for Spring 2011 is one of our best. And one of the best things about our best lines is our collaboration with Genesis Breyer P-Orridge who is one of the best people from several of the best bands and creator of many of the best ideas.
In the late sixties Genesis was in COUM Transmissions, an art/performance group. Later he formed Throbbing Gristle, considered the first industrial music band and coinners of the term “Industrial Music for industrial people.” Genesis then formed the band Psychic TV in 1982 which went on to make some of the best psychedelic, experimental, punk and electronic music. Psychic TV has their own cult/fanclub referred to as Thee Temple Ov Psychick Youth. They have their own religious book, Thee Psychick Bible. They have a symbol to unify them, thee psychic cross. Мишка is pleased to present them with nice things that they can wear.
We have made four T-shirts bearing iconic Psychic TV image. There’s one of a corroded Psychic Cross. There’s one featuring the unforgettable and frightening cover of Psychic TV’s Unclean 12″ single. There’s also a remake of t-shirt worn in one the groups most iconic photos featuringthe eyes of Charles Manson. Another with Cyco Simon crucified to the psychic cross instructs the Psychick Youth to rise. We’ve also produced a fitted New Era hat featuring thee Psychic Cross. The prestige piece of this collection is our Psychic M65 jacket, a long camoflage coat with a removable hood and ornamented with Psychick icons inside and out. There are four patches, two buttons, a Psychic Cross pattern lining and on the back there’s the word “PSYCHIC” in embroidered in an arc over the Psychic Cross.
We’re also releasing a new and exclusive interview with Genesis Breyer P-Orridge which was conducted by Nicholas Gazin (Artist/Writer/All-ARound Hipster) as part of this collaboration. The interview explains who this person is to the uninitiated and explores he/r for the familiar. The 22 page interview features a preview of our entire capsule collection and was conducted not long after Genesis’ most recent transition from one home to another and focuses on the reasons behind the dramatic changes that have occurred in he/r lifetime.
The entire capsule collection will be available in a couple of weeks along with the first drop of our Spring 2011 collection.

SCION A/V REMIX: JUAN ATKINS
While regularly teaming up with some of the newest up-and-coming acts in electronic music, Scion A/V takes a look back to honor one of the most influential veterans of the genre with the upcoming release of Scion A/V Remix: Juan Atkins. The hard-copy version drops on February 15, while the digital version arrives March 29th.For this project, Atkins shares three new tracks, liberally referencing the golden age of Detroit Techno and the Belleville Three. Additionally, the release will also feature remixes by some of the most respected names in modern EDM. Detroit-based musician and co-producer of Atkins’ album Infinity, Terrence Dixon, gives us his hyper take on “Dayshift”. DJ Worthy, the San Franciscan behind Anabatic Records and a string of ground-breaking remixes and EPs, lends his touches to “Marz”. Finishing out the record is a track by DJ Oliver who created a thumping accompaniment to “Dayshift” entitled “Oliver’s Nightshift Remix”. In its ongoing effort to show support for the arts, Scion covers all production, licensing and distribution costs for the A/V projects, and all proceeds go directly back to the label and artists involved. http://www.scionav.com/juanatkins

Jasmine Solano – Moodswing360 x Baby-G Music Series
Next up in our Moodswing360 x Baby-G Music Series is NYC’s Jasmine Solano. We first spotted the multi-talented DJ/performer as Wiz Khalifa’s DJ on the Deal or No Deal Tour. After spotting her video for “That’s Not It” in rotation on MTVu we knew we had to ask her for a Mini-Mix. Jasmine was kind enough to bless us with a surefire party soundtrack available for download exclusively to fans of the Baby-G Facebook Fan Page.

Drega is Henry VIII
Toronto artist Drega has released the second single off his upcoming EP titled Man of the Year. The song triumphantly called “Henry VIII” not only displays the fun, vibrant side of Drega but also showcases his knack for production.
“I’m pretty confident in my rapping abilities, but I didn’t feel my beat making skills we’re good enough, until I made this beat”, says Drega.
As for the unique title “Henry VIII”, Drega says, “The concept of the song is a take on Rick Ross’ BMF, but instead of glorifying a drug dealer, I wanted to glorify an English king that had seven wives and was pretty bad ass in his own right”.
Drega’s Man of the Year drops March 29th, 2011.
MP3: A.Dd+ – “Likeamug” Feat. Sore Losers
Dallas, Texas duo A.Dd+ (pronounced A.D.D., with the plus sign silent) is finally gearing up to release their long-awaited new project, When Pigs Fly, an album that will be released for free on March 28. The group, comprised of rappers Paris Pershun and Slim Gravy, worked diligently for the past year with producer Picnic Tyme, a member of Erykah Badu’s Cannabinoids who has also produced for Devin the Dude and Johnny Polygon. When Pigs Fly flows through a mix of slang anthems, flirtatious tales, and more serious issues (financial struggle, incarceration) with a creative edge, both musically and lyrically, that has made the duo one of the most progressive groups to come from the scene in some time. “When Pigs Fly represents the impossible,” explains Slim. “We’re doing what people are scared to do in this Dallas music scene. We’re making the impossible possible.”
For “Likeamug,” the lead single from When Pigs Fly, A.Dd+ brought along friend and fellow Dallas native Brown, of Sore Losers. “The song originated from a phrase we used when we were younger,” says Paris. “Of course, it’s a euphemism for ‘like a muthaf*cka.’ Brown of Sore Losers brought the phrase back on Twitter, and right at that same time we received a beat from Picnic titled ‘Mugg,’ so we ran with it.” With a half-sung chorus courtesy of Paris and a beat comprised of thick synth bass lines and pounding drums, “Likeamug” immediately pulls fans into the group’s unique, infectious sound, with Paris exclaiming that, “You ain’t never seen nothing like this,” before reassuring listeners: “Everything is A-OK when you’re rocking with us.”
In the coming weeks, fans can also look forward to a video for “Likeamug.”

Dirty South Launches “Starphazing Nights” World Tour
Temper Trap – “Sweet Disposition (Axwell & Dirty South Remix)” nominated for Grammy!
2010 was a huge year for Dirty South, one of the fastest rising names in dance music. His original productions “Phazing” and “Areena” are huge floorfillers, his Phazing night’s tour concept is a hit, and most recently, his remix (with Axwell) of Temper Trap’s “Sweet Disposition” was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Remixed Recording [Non-Classical] category.
Named after Dirty South’s summer 2010 smash, “Starphazing Nights” is a club event that unites opposing ends of the dancefloor. As such, you’ll get Dirty South’s signature dark house paired with tracks that match “Phazing’s” hands-in-the-air good vibes. The Starphazing concept was launched in 2010 at Marquee, Las Vegas and now Dirty South is taking the tour around the world with dates all over North America and Europe this spring. Those planning to attend Miami Music Week will have a chance to see “Starphazing Nights” at Mansion on March 24 and Dirty South live at Masquerade Motel on March 26. See below for full tour schedule and watch the Miami trailer here
When not creating his own music, remixing tracks or touring, Dirty South also runs his own Phazing Records. Just out on the label is Jeremy Olander’s “Airsteala” (featuring a Dirty South Remix). Check out both the original and remix here!
Dirty South is available for interviews in Miami and please let us know if you’d like to review any of the shows…more to come.
