“I’m A Dogg” is the 1st Single from NU Revolution Entertainment/Topp Dogg Hill recording artist Whitefolkz’s FREE Album “YEAR OF THE DOGG.” Previously, Folkz appeared on Chubb Rock & Wordsmith’s “Bridging the Gap Remix” in 2009, dropped a mixtape called “Alphadogg” in 2010 and joined Wordsmith, Kontact & Black Knight for their NU Revolution Camp “Super Hero Theme Music Vol. 1 Mixtape” released on February 7th of this year. As a solo artist, Whitefolkz delivers brash, blunt, comical, yet lyrical content for the trappers to the backpackers. Year of the Dogg will embody that and will be released via Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes & Revolt Radio on April 25th, 2011!
Trinity (AG, Sadat X, DJ Jab) – “The Bronx”
If The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit got together to write a track about Hip-Hop’s Holy Land, it would sound like Trinity’s “The Bronx.” The three members of hip-hop’s new supergroup play up to their name: AG, of Digging In The Crates (D.I.T.C.) fame, Sadat X, pivotal member of Brand Nubian, and DJ Jab, owner and founder of NYC’s Fat Beats Records. It’s difficult to say which Holy Trinity role each artist embodies, but it’s undeniable that their formation as Trinity is a breath of fresh air. The triumvirate burst onto the scene at Audible Treats’ 2009 CMJ Showcase, where they performed together for the first time, and they premiered their first single, “Roc Raida Tribute,” shortly there after, in honor of the fallen DJ.
Since then, the trio has been working on the project’s full album, which includes their single “The Bronx.” The fuzzy, electronic beat with dashes of violin and high-hats provide a dramatic instrumental for the song. Verses include shout-outs to the borough’s hot spots, as well as the group’s favorite places: “Up 49th St., known as The Hub/ Used to go Elliott, and spin a little dub/ They tore down the stadium and put it across the street/ Cedric Ave., home of the hip-hop beat.” The single was also recently used in a national New Era commercial about the Bronx, which was played at Yankee Stadium for the New Era-sponsored Pin Stripe Bowl.

3024′s West Country themed takeover climaxes with the 2 previously unheard tracks from one man genre Addison Groove.
‘It’s Got Me’ opens with broken window Rhodes twinkling & primal toms locked into an increasingly intricate call & response routine with whiplash snares. Multiple vocal splices break the surface as each voice is submerged under constantly shifting synth drones, Roland sonar blips and Swiss watch percussion before bursting back through with metronomic bludgeon.
Flipside ‘Minutes Of Funk’ inverts the disorientating murk of its predecessor by anchoring proceedings around an instantly recognisable refrain and drizzling humid analogue fuzz over the top, while the shared engine of pounding toms, machine gun hats and well concealed 808 hits provide 5 minutes of relentless interstate momentum.
Wrapped around the physical version is probably 3024 designer Erosie’s most elaborate sleeve design yet, with the chromatic splicing a perfect partner for the contents it flamboyantly protects.

First Listen: Beatface – “A Bottle Of Wine”
BEATFACE members Paul and Book started out wanting to be songwriters. Based in Toronto, they began crafting music for other artists but as time progressed a distinct sound emerged and they grew attached to their songs. Soon they decided to forego the songwriting route and keep their creations for themselves.
The BEATFACE sound can best be described as a mix of electronic, rock and pop music. Their influences run the gamut from Esthero and Dallas Green to Portishead and Deadmau5. They will be releasing their debut EP and touring later this year.
Earlier this year they held a listening session with a few local bloggers and have had some amazing response.
They have just released “A Bottle Of Wine” and would love to share it with you and your readers.

It was was 40 years from the time that this sound track was recored until Barack Obama’s election as president of the United States. Many voices have come and gone. Change happens with great effort over time, but dramatic events are part of metamorphisis.
I thought about this for several days and then put the mix together. Many people appreciate the connection between a successful and ongoing American freedom movement and the yearning for freedom in the Middle East. It seems to be especially meaningful to the some older folks.

Featuring an old soulful 70′s vibe reminiscent of a Willie Hutch production, he puts together an elaborate string section, along with a funky bassline and banging drums which is typical of the VAGABONDS, PREDICTIONS is the perfect wake-up call after the release of their GOOD NEIGHBORS project, which dropped on New Years Day 2011, and features this song.
