SHAOLIN JAZZ – Art is an original series of art works commissioned by Gerald Watson and DJ 2-Tone Jones (the creators of SHAOLIN JAZZ) where the two brought in longtime collaborator, artist Aniekan Udofia, to create an exclusive series of works for the project, with the only direction given for Udofia to simply develop a visual interpretation of SHAOLIN JAZZ.
The installation was featured in its entirety, at the SHAOLIN JAZZ – NYC Listening Party and visit SHAOLIN JAZZ – Art to see the full range.
King Of British R&B, Mark Morrison, Drops Official Birthday Anthem For The 21st Century, Featuring Trina
Music legend Stevie Wonder gave us the original Birthday anthem, with his classic record “Happy Birthday” in the 80s, now the King of British R&B Mark Morrison returns with the official Birthday anthem for the 21st century, “B’Day”, featuring Miami’s own diamond princess, Trina.
Morrison returns exactly 15 years after his classic, multi-million selling No. 1 hit “Return of the Mack”. His debut album, Return Of The Mack, sold over a million copies worldwide in 1996 and became the first ever debut album by a British solo artist to give birth to no less than five Top 10 singles. It confirmed Morrison’s status as one of the 90s major new R&B acts, internationally.
The music video to “B’Day” was shot on location in Miami, by award-winning video director Gil Green, who has become one of the decade’s definitive directors of hip-hop and dancehall. Green, who has won numerous awards such as the 2008 MTV Video Music Award for Best Hip Hop video for Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop,” has directed music videos for the likes of Diddy-Dirty Money, DJ Khaled, John Legend, Sean Kingston, and Natasha Bedingfield.
Mark Morrison is poised to release a brand new album later this year.
