Metal Mulisha has been an immovable force in motocross, off-road and rally racing during the last 12 years. The legendary team started by Brian Deegan will officially become a player in mixed martial arts starting with Nick Diaz’s UFC® 137 appearance later this month.
The longstanding relationship with Diaz allows the welterweight star to wear Metal Mulisha fight apparel in the upcoming fight against B.J. Penn in Las Vegas on October 29th. In addition, Diaz will be walking out to the fight in his signature Metal Mulisha t-shirt, which will be available at www.metalmulisha.com, as well as a number of other core retailers.
“This is a huge step in gaining credibility with the MMA community and showing that Mulisha is dedicated to the fight game,” said Mulisha founder, Brian Deegan. “We’ll be cheering loud for Nick as he takes the ring in a few weeks and starts another great era for our team.”
“Having the ability to sponsor UFC® fighters has a number of advantages from a branding and marketing perspective, and we’ll look to capitalize on the added exposure through Nick’s upcoming fight,” said Bill Gage VP of Sales & Marketing. “As a result of supporting numerous MMA athletes throughout the years, we have seen how loyal the fans in this sport can be, so we want to replicate that same passion for our brand that we have created with freestyle motocross.”
Metal Mulisha has been supporting mixed martial arts fighters for more than 10 years, working with Diaz, Renato “Babalu” Sobral, Dominick Cruz, Gilbert Melendez, and Ian McCall, among others. Metal Mulisha fight gear includes signature tees, technical fight shorts, hats, beanies and high end gear bags.
The Diaz-Penn fight at UFC® 137 will be shown on pay-per-view throughout the U.S. and markets around the world.
