PUSSYFOOT – February 2012: Ballet Boxer and Psych Artist Milford Kemp

February Fissipeds,

PUSSYFOOT–your discreet, internet-radio jump-off–has popped a pill and finds itself primed for a two-hour sesh of unencumbered audio-lovemaking. For the FEBRUARY 2012 show, the gang’s lubed-up for a broadcast replete with sticky triple-X treats.

First up, the ‘Foot’s resident fluffer MYSTI MAYH3M gets things poppin’ with a sexy send-off for the erotic auteur responsible for Hollywood’s haughtiest softcore. Next, cussing cupid EDDIE ROUSE finds himself balls-deep in a 3-set of listener write-ins that will seriously make one’s toes curl. And finally, will radio-Lothario BLAKE EVERETT give the new Ron Eldard flick ‘Roadie’ some cinematic sloppy-toppy? You’ll have to tune in to an ultra-lascivious ‘Blake at the Movies’ to find out.

Our keynote guest this month–a man of many loves–dance, fashion, art, and even sport. Known as the ‘Ballet Boxer’ MILFORD KEMP is a former ballet dancer turned professional boxer. Following an impressive 1976 near-victory against toothless titan Leon Spinx–yes, the same Leon Spinx who went on to beat Muhammad Ali–Milford soon found himself designing clothes and making psychedelic art. While David Lee Roth proudly peacocked many Kemp-created spandex jumpsuits during Van Halen’s ’80s heyday, most of Milford’s trippy drawings and paintings languished in the seediest of LA’s boxing gyms.

That’s where PUSSYFOOT comes in…

Matt and Matt chronicle their Kemp Art reconnaissance mission to South Central’s Broadway Boxing Club in a stunning Pussyfoot pdf. They then hop on the horn with Milford–who phones-in from his new home in Quebec, Canada. They chat with the painterly pugilist about his life, his loves, and the rare (thought-to-be-destroyed) art pieces he created close to 35 years ago.

All that, plus a playlist dripping with white hot–albeit unconventional–love jamz…

Entertainment is Personal ft Awol One

This is the first single from a new album “The Swashbuckler Vol 1 : The Viking Wars”

The album is the brainchild of Man Bites Dog Records CEO RML and producer Kount Fif, and has been nearly 6 years in the making.

Using Wu Tang’s “36 Chambers”, Mobb Deep’s “Infamous” and Heltah Skeltah’s “Nocturnal” as the blueprint, they were inspired to create an album which would reflect their own influences over the years and stand up to the classics over time.

The methodical approach has been worth the wait. The mainstay of the album has been produced by Kount Fif, credited with production on Killah Priest’s “I Believe”, Heltah Skeltah’s “Never Ending” & Gun 4 Gun ft Killah Priest & Nas. He is joined by fellow MBD labelmates Jason Rose & RML with further contributions from Bronze Nazareth, Brinknam, Melodious Monk and on the debut single “Entertainment is Personal” by Brycon ft Awol One.

The album, out on 27th March on Man Bites Dog Records, includes features from Royce da 5 9, Planet Asia, Heltah Skeltah, C Rayz Walz, Karniege, Cappadonna, Roc Marciano, Copywrite and many more well respected in the hip hop world.

Video/Mixtape: Dolla Will – “Addicted”

Later this year, Bay Area rapper and Clear Label Records recording artist Dolla Will is planning to release his latest album, Boss Flow. As he continues to put final touches on the project, he’s excited to release a video for the album’s latest single, “Addicted,” a follow up to the Too $hort-assisted lead single “Work That Body,” along with a brand new pre-album mixtape, Life Before Dolla Will.

The video was directed by Hiero’s own Casual, for his video production company Wet Foot Filmworks, and features Will not only showing off his musical chops, but also getting into some acting. “This was me making my first acting debut,” explains Dolla, who shows off some promising chops in front of the camera throughout the visual. “We wanted to make sure the visuals tied into the song, showing me hustling, being addicted to the life I live.”

The video opens with Dolla Will and his girl in the midst of an argument – Dolla Will eloquently referencing a unique breed of butterflies to explain his need to hustle – and while the song’s hook, a chopped vocal chant of “I’m addicted to this life/ It’s gon’ be hard to quit,” and hustle-heavy verses play along, Will spends his day on the grind, hitting the local horse tracks – betting and winning big – before catching up with a business associate for a lucrative rendezvous.
