‘Sight for Sore Eyes’ is LiKWUiD’s second single from the ‘No Regrets EP.’ The song is a snap shot of a family portrait of love torn, lost and misunderstood. Guest appearances include songstress Adrienne Mack-Davis and indie Hip-Hop superstar Donwill (of Tanya Morgan).Donwill and LiKWUiD pair up to speak on both angles of how a happy marriage can go sour. Produced by Bassi Maestro.
Sight for Sore Eyes is a clever and fun interpretation of relationship matters. Interestingly enough, the song ends allowing the listener to determine who was right or wrong.
Below is some fresh new music from Toronto natives A-Game and Luu Breeze produced by G.Byer.

Chantele DiBrava isn’t the typical youtube singer covering every other song that is on the radio and being covered on the web. “It’s like Paper Boy but you deliver drugs and you feed a monster meth at the end. I’ve been recording. Having fun with this kind of stuff on the side. Thanks to Mishka, Vice, and everyone helping me do random shit like this. Hope we can turn weed demon into an app someday.”
- Nathan of Wavves
During a short break in their busy touring and recording schedule, Wavves teamed up with homies Vice and Mishka to create a demented game that resembles something like Paper Boy only if the paper boy drank too much of the acid punch. Deliver drugs and avoid the Mishka-designed monsters as either Nathan or Stephen just don’t smoke all the stash, man. Jam out to the Anamanaguchi cover of “So Bored” while playing the game here but remember don’t bogart that joint!

Last week, Roach Gigz hinted at the release of a new mixtape, a project meant to serve as a holdover for fans as they wait for Roach’s forthcoming debut album, Bugged Out. Today, to celebrate his birthday, Roach Gigz is excited to give fans his new mixtape, Hot Air Balloons & Cinnamon Sticks. The tape, which Roach is offering to fans as a free download, is co-presented by DJ Amen from 106 KMEL in the Bay and DJ Carisma from Power 106 in Los Angeles.
The motivation behind the mixtape was simple, according to Roach, who was inspired to release the project as a way to let his fans help celebrate his birthday with him. “It’s a present,” says Roach, who remarks on the tape’s unique name by saying, “A friend and I were brainstorming names and he said it. I was like fuck it; that sounds cool… Or it could all be a secret metaphor for life, you’ll never know.”
Hot Air Balloons & Cinnamon Sticks is also largely a solo effort, with Roach calling on only a close few friends, including IamSu!, Remedy, Marlow, and Pac B, to take part. Roach kept it similarly close to home for the production. “I just connected with a few talented producers, got a couple of friends to do their thing,” says Roach. “We made a cool project.”
And for those who might want to take this project too seriously, or compare it to an official full-length release, Roach urges fans to simply enjoy the music for what it is. “This mixtape isn’t about progression; it’s not about anything except putting out some dope songs for my birthday,” explains Roach. “It’s all music to have fun to, and that’s what I want people to do.”

Last month, 4th Pyramid released his latest album, The Pyramid Scheme. The album, Pyramid’s first since signing his newly minted Silk Ivory label to a joint venture with Universal Music, continues to receive high praise, and with a third official music video on the way, Pyramid continues to feed fans with new music, both singles from the album and non-album loosies. Today, Pyramid is releasing the latest non-album single, “Vinnie Chase,” a collaboration with producer and fellow Torontonian Rich Kidd.
“I wanted to do a song based on some of the real Hollywood moments in my career,” explains 4th Pyramid, recalling poolside breakfasts and hosting parties in Miami donning a bathrobe. “Real movie star shit that a lot of people don’t really know about me.” The song certainly lives up to that hype, as 4th weaves a tale of fame and fortune, rapping, “Poolside host the party in the bathrobe/ Thousand dollar shades on acting like I’m black gold/ Came a long way from six-packs of Pabst, though, off rap flow.”
Rich Kidd, who has become one of Pyramid’s most frequent collaborators, handled the production for “Vinnie Chase,” and the two friends may be making a lot more music together soon. “We’ve recorded a lot of songs in a real short time span,” notes Pyramid. “Any time we hang out, we make a song; we’re thinking of doing a whole project together.”

Cadence Weapon performed live at the CBC Hip-Hop Summit inside the Glenn Gould Theatre, but it seems that the old school have not welcomed you why is that?
I don’t agree with that observation. That same night, King Lou from Dream Warriors gave me props and said he’s been following my progress. I played with Maestro Fresh Wes a few years back and he loved my show. He thought my set was so hype that he called me “the Black AC/DC”.
Look, I realize that I have a unique approach. I got here on my own terms. I grew up listening to Brand Nubian, Nas, Tribe and Wu Tang but I was focused on expressing my own identity in my music. My father, Teddy Pemberton, was a DJ from Brooklyn who introduced rap music to Western Canada through his radio show The Black Experience In Sound on CJSR in Edmonton. Two years ago, he was posthumously inducted into the Stylus DJ Hall Of Fame at the Stylus DJ Awards in Toronto, which I accepted on his behalf. That moment reinforced my father’s place as a Canadian hip-hop pioneer, which is a legacy I’ve embraced and a torch I carry in what I do with my music today.
What does Hope In Dirt City bring to the table?
Hope In Dirt City is my most concrete statement as an emcee and as a producer. It was co-produced by Michael Musmanno, who produced for Arrested Development and worked with Outkast. It’s stylistically diverse but cohesive as an album. It’s equally inspired by early rap that had a live band and newer shit like Rick Ross.
What can we expect on the latest tour?
A dope rap show. It’s a mix of hype moments, vintage tracks and dynamic routines, with live drum machine by my DJ and maybe a little crowd surfing.

“With the ides of May fast approaching, and with it the release of the highly anticipated collaborative album Toothy Wavy, we have another great video to premier for you. As you know, Toothy Wavy is the partnership between Isaiah Toothtaker, incarcerated rapper Max B, and production duo The Hood Internet. “Champion Cuffer”, the first track off of the album, finally gets some visuals and they’re – uhhh – bodacious to say the least.Featuring a dare I say it Lynchian tattoo parlor waiting room stocked to the brim with old school skin mags, the “Champion Cuffer” video stars (director) Isaiah Toothtaker, gorgeous model Kristin Bracamonte, and some commendably bizarre camera movements. Seriously, that thing is all over the place. This is the very last video you’ll be getting before Toothy Wavy hits the airwaves on May 15th, so savor it!”- Via Мишка
