Stilz is back with his sophomore solo album. Once again he entwines lush sample loopery with his crisp-yet-gritty beat arrangements to create a truly rich instrumental hip hop experience. Stilz continues his emphasis on the human experience, bringing an entire beat-tape worth of emotionally aware beats with titles like “So Good to Me”, “Love Shines” and “Hearing Your Voice Again”, it’s clear he’s well versed in both love from both near and afar. The hand-drawn cover illustration by Mantrakid paints the picture these beats inspire: headphones blaring as you stand in the wet downtown street, staring up at the lit apartment window of your Love Confidential. Free to download, so enjoy.

“Last year was a long year, mostly spent as a traveling man, I had a lot of fun, but i´ve also dealt with a lot of unhappy stuff. Music lost it´s touch and i was never psyched about writing. Summer was crazy, winter was dark. When the year was in it´s last days it felt necessary to summarize it….four or five feelings that remained became heavy is the head that wears the crown. Some kind of stepping stone between windowsill rap on youtube to a supposed ep and an album release.”
The much anticipated biopic “Crazy, Sexy, Cool: The TLC Story,” on Grammy-winning girl group TLC, is set to begin production in March 2013 in Atlanta, GA. Atlanta is the birthplace for the group that rose to unprecedented fame in the 1990’s as one of the world’s most talented, celebrated and highest-selling female groups of all time. Through very public and high-profile success, turmoil and tragedy, TLC left an indelible stamp of female empowerment that changed the face of the music industry forever. The group was also recognized internationally as pioneers in advocacy for Sex and HIV education.
Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins have signed on as consultants and executive producers for the full-length TV movie based on their life and career as TLC. “We were pleased to learn that production would take place here in Atlanta because it keeps everything true to form. The group was formed here, and Atlanta was the backdrop for so many things we experienced, good and bad as a group. We really want fans to experience our story in an authentic way,” says Chilli. “There is so much to our story that hasn’t been told until this movie, it really has to be done the right way,” T-Boz adds. “Fans will be able to really understand the dynamic of the group and why that formula has not been able to be duplicated. It was something truly special.” Bill Diggins and Maggie Malina are executive producers alongside Thomas and Watkins. Jeff Olde and Jill Holmes serve as executive producers for VH1. Alexander A. Motlagh also serves as executive producer for Pop Films.
VH1 has cast the roles of superstars Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas with actress Drew Sidora, hip hop artist Lil Mama and KeKe Palmer.
“TLC were truly music pioneers and this movie is a fantastic way to expand our scripted push by combining our audience’s passion for music with their love of story. We know our viewers will be eager to go beyond the headlines and into the surprisingly personal, never before told stories of these groundbreaking women,” stated Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President, Original Programming and Production.
