On Tuesday night, the explosive premiere of Season 6 of Sons of Anarchy aired on FX. Although there was a stellar script, the standout scene of the night was Jax Teller and his crew (which included guest star Dave Navarro) busting in to save XXX Stars Allison Moore and Felony from being raped and imprisoned by fake pornographers. SOA member Tig actually frees Allison from a cage she’s locked in. This is not the first mainstream role for the SAG card-carrying actress, who has appeared in mainstream movies and music videos, including Indie Film “Rabbi Dan Gets a Night Job” that’s making the film festival rounds.
“I really enjoyed working on SOA—everybody from the cast to the crew was extremely professional, plus we had a blast doing the scene,” says Allison Moore. “It’s one of my favorite shows and I hope to make more appearances this season.”

Superman is among comics’ most recognizable characters, and 75 years after Cleveland teenagers Jerry Siegel and Joe Schuster’s Kryptonian made his debut in the pages of Action Comics No. 1, his popularity remains stratospheric.
At Comic-Con International, Superman’s presence could be seen everywhere — in the attendees wearing versions of his many costumes and in scenes from the television serials, cartoons and films.
“Superman was the first comic book superhero and the first cross-media sensation. Practically everyone of every generation knows and recognizes the character, so that’s a huge asset for his ongoing popularity,” said Rob Salkowitz, author of “Comic-Con and the Business of Pop Culture.”
“Batman has been more successful in the past couple of decades because he is in some ways more relatable —but also because of the times. Batman speaks to our fears. He’s about revenge and darkness,” he said. “Superman speaks to our hopes. He’s about transcending our limitations. He’s about using vast power for public good, not private gain.”
Jim Lee, co-publisher at DC Entertainment who, along with writer Scott Snyder, created the new Superman comic book “Superman Unchained,” said few characters have been as relevant as Superman for so long.
“Name another character that’s been around for 75 years that’s still being published and relevant,” challenged Lee.
“There are very few that are still relevant to today’s culture and to today’s audience that are still being published,” Lee said, giving as examples that Superman was a social crusader in the 1930s, fought Nazis in the 1940s, was a yuppie in the 1980s “and in the ’90s had a mullet!”
His popularity can be measured in not just sales of comics, but in tickets, too. Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel” has made more than $630 million at the box office. And Saturday’s announcement of a sequel, of sorts, became the buzz of Comic-Con with news that it would pair Superman with DC’s other big name hero, Batman.
“Let’s face it, it’s beyond mythological to have Superman and our new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest super heroes in the world,” Snyder said.
With 75 years now passed, DC Entertainment co-publisher Dan DiDio said that the comics will continue their retelling of his early days, which in the New 52 universe that launched in 2011, includes a budding romantic relationship with Wonder Woman, a return trip to Krypton and more.
“Superman is such an identifier for who we are and what we are about — not just DC Comics but just comics in general,” DiDio said. “He is just as strong and probably more vibrant than ever.”

Mediajuice Studios announced today that it has launched a Kickstarter campaign to finalize its indie documentary film, Video Games: The Movie (http://kck.st/10F2eCG). Mediajuice Studios, which has created scores of trailers and live-action commercials for the world’s top video game brands, recently concluded a year’s worth of on-camera interviews with many video game icons and celebrities for Video Games: The Movie, and is now raising funds to complete post-production before releasing the film theatrically.
Video Games: The Movie is a documentary that hopes to entertain and educate people about the rich history, unique culture and exciting future of the video game industry through incisive interviews with the people who helped shaped the interactive entertainment industry, including Nolan Bushnell (founder of ATARI), Randy Pitchford, Cliff Bleszinski, and many others. Also included are some of geek and gamer culture’s leading celebrity voices such as Wil Wheaton, Chris Hardwick and Alison Haislip.
Directed by Jeremy Snead, Video Games: The Movie will tackle many of today’s hot button topics, including the questionable correlation between video games and violence, the exploration and elevation of video games as an art form, next-generation and future-generation gaming and the negative stereotypes that continue to plague the industry despite its popularity and commercial success.
“We have spent the past year gathering footage, speaking with industry founders, influencers, and pundits to get their take on what we’ve collectively created as an industry and where we’re headed. We’ve amassed an amazing library of footage that we think will help bring the true story of the video game industry into clear focus. We’re now headed into post-production and are looking to the community to get us to the finish line. We are on Kickstarter to generate enough funding to create the type of film the video game industry deserves,” said Jeremy Snead, director of Video Games: The Movie and president of Mediajuice Studios.
Mediajuice will use Kickstarter to fund post-production on the film, which includes editing, a musical score, voice over narration, the acquisition of licensed archival clips from as early the 1960s through the late 1990s, motion graphics, and the need to gain a handful of key interviews that are needed to cover the next generation of consoles as well as round out and better present the video game industry to viewers.
“I hope that once we’re done, Video Games: The Movie will stand as a benchmark for all other movies about the games industry; and that it will help dispel some of the nagging falsehoods that ignorantly plague game makers and players, and keep them from receiving mainstream acceptance like other art forms such as films, music and books. In the end, our hope is that this film will help further legitimize the industry and the culture to those who continue to disregard it without really spending time to learn about it,” said Snead.

“Smell you later,” was all Big Brother Canada‘s first evictee had to say to their fellow houseguests.
Kat Yee, the 27-year-old bartender from Toronto, has the infamous distinction of being the first Canadian houseguest to be evicted from the Big Brother game.
Kat was sent packing by a vote of 11 to 1 with the sneaky Liza throwing out a lone “ghost vote” to possibly stir up trouble and confusion in the house.
Nicely done, Liza. Nicely done.
“It was no shocker,” Yee told Big Brother Canada host, Arisa Cox, on the Couch of Shame. “I always promised that I wouldn’t do a slander campaign and I wasn’t going to do it against him [Emmett]. I just tried to enjoy my last few days in the house.”
Yee found herself on the nomination block after Tom won the Power of Veto and saved himself leaving Head of Household Suzette to name a replacement nominee to sit alongside farm boy Emmett.
“When I came into the house one of the things I am against is bullying. I am sorry Kat, I love you but you are going to replace him [Tom]. May the best person win,” said Suzette who was turned off by Kat’s aggressive game play.
“Things can change in a heartbeat. It is just a matter of who is pushing information to whom,” Kat explained to Arisa. “I don’t have any regrets.”
Kat confessed that if she had to do it all over again, she would have tried to form alliances with those who, like herself, were there to play hard and win.
“Some people are here to be on TV. Some people are here to prove something to themselves. I think that maybe if I could do it over again I would have aligned myself with people who were game-oriented.”
Kat did try to secure her position by forming an all-female alliance but many felt the move was too much, too soon and opted out.
As a direct result of Suzette’s Head of Household reign, the Bromance Alliance of Tom and Emmett grew tighter and more determined than ever to get the support worker and radio host out.
“He [Emmett] is definitely the guy I want to have beside me throughout this game,” Tom said of his new-found buddy.
“I feel like you have to give some trust to someone in this game, I will give mine to Tom,” said Emmett of his new pal.
In order to put their plan into action, the bros will have to win the Head of Household endurance competition which began on Thursday night’s show. When the broadcast went off the air, the houseguests were dressed as lumberjacks, lumberjills desperately clinging to trees in the backyard. The winner and new HoH will be the last person standing…or is that clinging?

It’s not often a fan produces a live-action trailer for a videogame, and certainly not of this quality, but that’s exactly what Californian filmmaker Jason Forge has done in his short film entitled “Escaping Deadlight”.
Jason describes himself as “a dude who loves to film and edit with a dose of VFX” – please go and check out all his work here, which includes other videogame based material.
We asked Jason a few questions about himself, the film and how it came into being:
Where are you from? I’m from LA, California.
What inspired the movie? The game has a great story. It was designed and played like no other zombie game I’ve ever played. The story was very interesting and easy to fall into. I had to make a short film out of it!
How much did it cost to make, and how long did it take? We worked on a $400 budget and shot over the course of 3 days.
When did you make it? We shot it on weekends cause of my schedule. We started out mid September and ended in early October.
How did you make it? I wrote a small script for it. I figured it would be more of a narrative to follow the likes of the game. Then found locations and busted out the good old camera and shot it.
Where was it filmed? It was filmed at a few locations not far from my home in a city of Irwindale, CA and West Covina, CA.
