Taking advantage of the lull between holidays, Asher Roth and Nottz have blessed us with an EP entitled Rawth, which is available for free download from Nottz’ label’s site, rawkoncept.com/rawthep. In just 8 short tracks, Nottz demonstrates his wide-ranging production talents to match Asher’s honest and clever lyrics. Featuring guest appearances from D.A. of Chester French, Rhymefest, and Kardinal Offishall, the album deftly combines the sonic influences, lyrical abilities, and subject matter from a rare mix of talents to create the ideal album.
The Rawth EP will be made into a special limited-edition 7” box set, which will be available in early spring.

Two of hip-hops most accomplished personalities, Nottz & Asher Roth join forces for a dream-team collaboration of the most charitable variety, the Rawth EP, available for free on Monday, December 27th. After meeting while Asher Roth was completing debut album Asleep In The Bread Aisle, the two cemented a hyper-productive working relationship during the recording of Nottz’s You Need This Music. The MCs decided to make an artistic donation to the hip-hop community by releasing a jaw-dropping collection of songs with stellar verses and original bangers from Nottz at no charge.
The Rawth EP features verses from both spitters, both of whom riff off of each other with wild abandon, effortlessly writing the contained material. In many ways, this release embodies the essence of hip-hop by completely disregarding convention, subscribing to the new model of internet distribution. The Rawth EP is fun, free and for the fans.
Producer Nottz and rapper Asher Roth take a casual stroll together down memory lane on the latest single “Dontcha Wanna Be (My Neighbor)” from Nottz’s forthcoming debut solo album You Need This Music to be released October 26th on Raw Koncept Media Group.
From the get-go, shimmering xylophone samples recall nostalgic flashbacks, signaling the eternal backward glance into breezy summer days and hanging out around the block. Far from simply telling their stories, Nottz and Roth invite us to join in their respective journeys with the hook, crooned by Colin Munroe, “Welcome to the world that I’m from/ Maybe you’ll wanna be/ My neighbor/ They say that where you goin’ ain’t always where you from/ Maybe some day you’ll be /My neighbor.”
Fans can also expect a video for the single in the near future. Nottz and Roth are currently collaborating on the upcoming The Rawth EP. Download “Dontcha Wanna Be (My Neighbor)” here:
