Canada to host China PR at BMO Field
The Canadian Soccer Association has announced that the Canadian women’s national team will host China PR this 30 September 2010 at BMO Field in Toronto, ON. The Women’s International Friendly match, to be presented by Winners, will kickoff at 19.30 local. Rusko Announces North American Tour Dates For September and October
Dubstep trailblazer Rusko has announced a month-long tour starting September 18th in Dallas, Texas and ending October 30th at the HARD Haunted Mansion. The UK-bred DJ released his debut album earlier this year, O.M.G.! on Mad Decent, which features dirty-south staple Gucci Mane, Amber Coffman of the Dirty Projectors, Rod Azlan, and more. His live set mixes these eclectic singers and rappers seamlessly through bass heavy dubstep beats. Rusko keeps one hand on his ear while keeping the crowd thoroughly engaged with his ecstatic stage presence.
Rusko is said to use only original material for his live sets, which isn’t hard to believe considering the long list of artists he’s worked with in the past including Caspa, Diplo, Santigold, Hot Chip and, most recently, production work on M.I.A.’s latest album. Although some samples are mixed into his set, one should expect a very original mix.

Canadian Rapper-Producer “KEELO GRAMZ” Plots Triumphant Return with new deals
Canadian rapper and producer, Keelo Gramz, has signed a marketing deal with The Burnitdown Group LLC. The Burnitdown Group is the independent marketing arm for Shady Records. In conjunction with Black & Blue Signature Marketing, they plan to manage Keelo’s marketing and public relations strategy, overseeing the development and growth of his brand.
No stranger to media or entertainment, the rapper is plotting his triumphant return to the industry. In May 2010, he signed an EP deal with Ice Cold Recordings and is actively seeking a major recording deal. His new website, keelogramz.com, launched Thursday, July 20 during the soft debut of his new single “On Some Other Ish”; which is on radio rotation throughout Canada & the US. The official release party for “On Some Other Ish” will be on the same week of his birthday (Sept. 13 to Sept. 19)
Keelo’s tremendously, successful underground rap career spans across 4 years. The Scarborough native and former High School basketball star, began his music career in 2005 where he spent years recording and performing across Canada & the USA. He released his first indie album, Fortunes of the Fearless, which had 3 singles charting in Canada “Here Ya Go”, “Last Call” and “Somebody Snitched”. Not being adjusted to the “industry life”, Keelo took some time off to perfect his craft and spend time with friends & family.
His music speaks for itself and to the masses and Keelo Gramz has been impressing audiences with his music. 2010 marks the fifth edition of the Music Gallery’s X AVANT New Music Festival running from October 16 to 24 in Toronto, Canada. Guest Curator Gregory Oh explores the theme of “What Is Real?” through his programming – looking at notions of authenticity in music. Can objectivity and art co-exist? How do our preconceptions influence what we hear? Through nine days of dynamic programming, X AVANT V runs the gamut from Detroit techno to modern dance and video game mash-ups, from creative re-workings of Wagner and Schoenberg to roof-raising rave-ups by post-punk pioneers.

Against Me! Announce Canadian Tour

Florida punk band Against Me! have announced a series of Canadian tour dates in support of their latest album White Crosses. The first single off of White Crosses, “I Was A Teenage Anarchist,” is currently the #1 rock song in Canada for a second consecutive week on the BDS Rock Chart where it has been in the top five for nine weeks straight. The track was also in the top ten on the BDS Modern Rock chart for 12 weeks. White Crosses, released on June 8, has been very well received by critics. JAMAICA’s new video featuring Sepultura’s Igor Cavalera + North American Tour Dates
With the release of their highly anticipated debut album No Problem on the horizon, Jamaica, the French duo formerly known as Poney Poney have announced their next single. ‘Short & Entertaining’ will be released on August 16th through Co-op Music.
Packed with stop-start metallic guitars and fuzzy indie-pop melodies, ‘Short & Entertaining’ is a three minute gem. The video is directed by Jeremie Rozan & Martial Schmetz – from Surface2Air – (Justice vs. Simian, The Streets) and features Igor Cavalera, the drummer and founding member of the Brazilian Thrash metal bandSepultura.
‘No Problem’ was produced in Paris by Grammy Award winners Xavier de Rosnay (Justice) and Peter Franco. Contrary to what people might expect, there isn’t a synth in sight. In fact, the only rule when recording the album was “No synthesizers would be involved!”
Based in Paris, Jamaica are Antoine Hilaire & Flo Lyonnet. Antoine’s inspirations range from Michael Jackson and The Beatles to 60s girl groups and Nirvana, whilst Flo is the electro head but holds a special place in his heart for the likes of Pantera and Rage Against The Machine.
This wide spectrum of influences gives Jamaica its distinct sound: sleek pop hooks and rock undertones alongside super tight electronic production. The album’s yacht rock sound – resplendent with guitar solos reminiscent of Daft Punk’s ‘Discovery’ – arrives just at the right time for summer.
Jamaica who play with a live drummer, opened the NME Radar Stage at The Great Escape earlier this year and are currently supporting Two Door Cinema Club on their French tour.

A-Game “Airplanes” Official Music Video
This time last year, Toronto’s twin rap duo A-Game had the summer going crazy with their first single “Go Head Shawty”. Earning them 300, 000 views on Youtube to date, Seeing that their first single was such a success, the boys of A-game knew that they had to make another single. The start of the new decade seen the twins releasing their sophomore dance-friendly record “Airplanes” produced by T-Minus.
Since the release of “Airplanes” the club banger has been featured on numerous countdowns as well as receiving heavy rotation from torontos own radio flow 93.5. Thanks to the high demand and positive feedback of the song, it was only fitting that a video should be made. The video was shot mid-May by super director Aaron A (who has also directed for Nelly Furtado, Down With Webster, etc). A-Game’s official DJ Spoonz and platinum producers Tone Mason among others made it out, and also appeared in special cameos for the video.
The boys are currently in the studio working on their PilotModeMuzik EP which is due fall of this year which sees production from Boi 1da, Bass Line, T-Minus, Megaman, & Tone Mason.
Canada-Honduras tickets on sale Tuesday 20 July
Tickets for the Canada-Honduras Men’s International Friendly match will go on sale this Tuesday 20 July at 10.00 ET. Canada will host 2010 FIFA World Cup™ participant Honduras on Tuesday 7 September at Stade Saputo in Montréal, QC. The match, presented by BMO, will kick off at 19.30.
Fans can purchase their tickets via Admission at www.Admission.com or 1.800.361.4595. Ticket prices start as low as $20 while premium tickets cost just $40. Group rates are available in select sections with the purchase of 10 or more tickets.

Canada will play back-to-back home matches on FIFA international dates in early September. On 4 September (17.30 kickoff), Canada faces Peru at BMO Field in Toronto (Ticketmaster / 416.872.5000). The Canadian team then flies to Montréal to face Honduras on 7 September (19.30 kickoff).
Canada last faced Honduras at the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup in the quarter final stage. Honduras won 1:0 on a penalty kick goal. In 2010, Honduras was one of three CONCACAF nations that participated in the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™.
Honduras is Canada’s second 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ opponent this year. In a trip to South America in late May, Canada lost to eventual quarter-final participant Argentina on 24 May. On that same trip, Canada also drew 1:1 with Venezuela on 30 May.
With South Africa now complete, the world turns its attention to the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™. The Canada-Honduras match is part of Hart’s early preparations in advance of the next FIFA World Cup™ Qualifiers, which are expected to begin in 2012. In between, Hart and the Canadian squad will also have the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup (schedule also yet to be announced).

International soccer returns to Toronto as Canada hosts Peru in an international men’s friendly on Saturday 4 September at BMO Field. The match will be Canada’s first on the newly installed grass at BMO Field and it’s first in Toronto since a 1:1 draw with Jamaica on 20 August 2008 as part of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa qualifying process. Ticket prices for the Canada-Peru soccer friendly are between $26-$100 each and go on sale to the public Monday 12 July at 10:00am ET through Ticketmaster (Ticketmaster.ca or 416.872.5000).
