It Starts With The DJ 3.0
Stylus Spinfest announces their three city tour for the first ever seminar of its kind in Canada – ‘It Starts With The DJ 3.0’.The seminar kicks off on May 22 on the west coast in Vancouver, traveling east to Montreal on Sunday May 23rd and landing in Toronto on Saturday May 29th.
Presented by Marc Ecko Watches, The It Starts With The DJ seminar will underline the influence that the DJ has on branding, products, and lifestyle in both the mainstream and underground culture. Beginning the three city tour is world renown producer Just Blaze as the featured keynote guest in Vancouver, appearing in Montreal is keynote guest DJ Clinton Sparks and finishing in Toronto will be producer – DJ Scratch from EPMD & Busta Rhymes. This year’s round table discussion format will feature the topic of ‘Business Fundamentals’ and ‘How to Generate an Income’. The seminar will focus on building and maintaining corporate relationships as highlighted by a panel of relevant industry advisors from the music community.
The 2010 Stylus Spinfest presented by Marc Ecko Watches will bring together some of the country’s biggest recording artists, producers, record label executives, celebrity DJs, and like minded enthusiasts for this national event with a sole purpose to discuss relevant issues and trends facing today’s music industry.
The It Starts With The DJ seminar is in association with MANIFESTO; a non-profit grassroots organization working to unite, energize, support the music and arts community. In addition we acknowledge the financial support of Canada’s Private Radio Broadcasters with the assistance from Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent On Recording (FACTOR).
The conference precedes the finale of the Stylus Group’s main event The 2010 Stylus DJ Awards which will take place on Monday May 31st, at 8:00pm in Toronto at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre located on the CNE grounds. Nominees for the 2010 Stylus DJ Awards Announced!
The Stylus Group, a Canadian based organization created to support, develop, recognize and award the Canadian DJ Industry, announces its nominee listing for the 2010 Stylus DJ Awards on May 31, 2010 presented by Marc Ecko Watches.
As the Stylus Group embarks on the 5th anniversary of the Stylus DJ Awards, another record setting 11,000 fans from across the country and around the world have spoken, casting their votes online atwww.stylusgroup.ca to nominate their favourite DJs. The winners will be determined by a panel of experts comprised of industry tastemakers. The 2010 Stylus DJ Awards will honour the accomplishments and progress made by Canadian DJs in their respective categories.
DJ’s gathering multiple nominations this year are; Lissa Monet(Toronto), and Jester (Toronto), with four nominations each, Flipout (Vancouver), Jay Swing (Vancouver), and Ill Kidz (Toronto) with three nominations each, Game Girl (Edmonton), Fin-S (Winnipeg), Payce (Montreal) and DJ Anchor (Saskatoon) all with two nominations each.

All eyes will be on Toronto this summer. Top DJ talents and industry insiders from across the country will unite in celebration of the 5th Annual Stylus DJ Awards & Spinfest presented by Marc Ecko Watches.
From May 28 to May 31, 2010, Canada’s most influential players in club music and lifestyle will be throwing it down at Canada’s finest venues including the Queen Elizabeth Theatre at 190 Princes Blvd, CNE Grounds, where the 2010 DJ Stylus DJ Awards will take place on Monday May 31st at 8PM. The annual awards show will draw a crowd of over 1,200 guests — an event that has sold out since its inception.
The 2010 Stylus Spinfest will begin Friday, May 28th and continues through to Sunday, May 30th, bringing you much-anticipated events such as the Official Stylus Launch party, the second edition of the “Who’s Got Next?” compilation series, and the National Stylus DJ Conference Tour: It Starts with the DJ 3.0. Returning for its third year, It Starts with the DJ 3.0 will hit three of Canada’s metropolitans: Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto.
Joined by a roster of internationally renowned recording artists, producers, record label executives, and celebrity DJs, Spinfest and The Stylus Awards Show presented by Marc Ecko Watchesfor its second year, will unite a diverse and artistic community whom all share a common interest: to grow Canadian urban music and talents both nationally and abroad. The annual event continues to increase public awareness of Canada’s dynamic music scene and spotlights the significant contributions that DJs have made to pop culture today.
