IAMNOBODI is always good for a surprise. Just like tonight when he decided to drop a little EP out of the blue for free. And no, this is no leftover / b-side material, instead you get 5 quality productions that would have been equally fitting on a proper sale release. It’s all love. Enjoy and spread the word.
Ryshon Jones and Thelonious Martin come together for the latest release from the Philadelphia emcee’s upcoming album Track Fifteen, “Three Kay”. Point blank, this is rap in it’s rawest form. He doesn’t want to offer up too much information about the song as he wants the music to speak for itself. He does however give us a reveal of the projects cover, which is a message he received from a fan a year and a half ago. He says “there is nothing I could come up with for the artwork that would speak louder than these words and it plays a big part of the inspiration behind the project. I’m excited for people to see what special guests I have brought in as well as the visuals and music to come.” Look for Track Fifteen to be released early next year.
Dealing with distrust can be a struggle in life. Nobody wants to come up alone and not share their success with their close ones, but even the closest ones to you will try to bring you down and throw some sort of shade on your shine. These two recognize this struggle and have something to say about it: “a bunch of rookies trying to match up with the f*cking pros”. You can either focus on what every body has to say and be brought down to your last or you can make a way for yourself and put on. It’s your decision at the end of the day.

J NICS comes together with long time collaborator and producer Numonics for the second single off his new EP ThreeSixtyFive, HitMan. The song touches on the lifestyle of young men who become killers and are down for their family and crew and the security that comes along with it. On the track we find out just what it is that takes them down that dark path and where the lifestyle leads.
Over a single piano note opening, De’Wayne Jackson echoes in that squeaky pitched singing voice of his “And who is he?” That’s been the general statement stamped on his upcoming mixtape of the same name (out next Monday) and for good reason. When you’re not even of the legal limit to drink, a lot of things boil down to identity and relationships. On “Bike & A Dream”, an edgier thesis in regards to growing closer to your father (who may or may not be absentee) but “no pity” in the eyes of De’Wayne, proving to your mom that blog love is real (“these my friends!”) or etching out a course to prove every teacher whose class you slacked off in wrong, De’Wayne bottles his emotions in almost as if he’s trapped by them. Who Is He drops December 9th.
The Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation (TASF) is home to the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts, just outside of Atlanta in Stone Mountain, Georgia. TASF was founded in 1997 originally as the Shakur Family Foundation by Afeni Shakur, mother of multi-talented Tupac Amaru Shakur. Since its inception TASF has offered performing arts camps, essay competitions, youth book clubs, foreign exchange programs, visual arts workshops, community development projects, and scholarships to students pursuing undergraduate degrees.
The children and volunteers of the center have been doing their best to maintain the grounds. Extra help is needed, so the children can perform on-site for the community rather than being transported to another location. The theater will serve as a community jewel that people can be proud of.
While recently in Germany for a brief getaway, UK based hip hop artist Just P decided to use the time to write a few songs over various commercially used instrumentals, by established Hip Hop producer Apollo Brown.
When home, P decided to record then mix the tracks so he could release them in the form of a free download EP. The songs have varying themes from, being away from home to, things P finds hard to say in person.
The artwork features a shot of the Stuttgart sunset taken by P and all songs on the release were mixed and mastered by Just P. Check it out and share it around.
This past week Tribe opened up a couple of shows for Kanye’s Yeezus tour in NYC. At the time the shows were announced, Q-Tip said the 2 concerts would be the last ATCQ shows EVER! Like every other Tribe fan, we are hoping that this is going to go the way of most artist’s “last show” and result in another Tribe show somewhere down the road. Also like every other Tribe fan, this news made the “A Tribe Called Quest Stan” in us very sad but unlike every other fan we decided to make a mixtape that celebrates the greatness that is Q-Tip the Abstract, Phife Dawg, Ali Shaheed MuHammad, and (sometimes) Jarobi!
The mixtape art and download link are below (there is a split track version available at THE LOVE THEORY soundcloud page as well).
On the real, there is just so much ill music from A Tribe Called Quest that just one mixtape can’t do them justice. Their album cuts and b-sides are just as dope as anything they have released as a single (for Tribe’s rarities and b-sides please see our dude Mick Boogie’s Excursions mixtape that came out a few years back – you can call that the b-side to this tape!). For the purpose of this mix, we decided to hit you with Tribe’s bigger records – we just flipped them a bit. This isn’t your standard A Tribe Called Quest mixtape as we have tried to capture the energy and creativity that has defined Tribe throughout the years.
Also, shout out to our friend Martini at Vancity Original and DIPT for jumping on board to help us bring you THE LOVE THEORY. To go along with this mixtape we also made limited edition Vancity Original “Tribe” tees that you can cop at DIPT along with a hard copy of THE LOVE THEORY.
A Tribe Called Quest represent, represent-sent! Enjoy.

Atlanta resident Mantiz releases his long awaited new single “Nobody’s Watchin”, which he also produced. This one is definitely for the clubs and the twerkers. This serves as the lead single from his forthcoming album, “Word To My Words” due to drop next year.
Kulkid has created quite a stir recently with a string of highly acclaimed remix releases throughout 2013, several of which have topped the Hype Machine popular chart. A native of the French Alps and a seasoned multi-instrumentalist (cello, piano, guitar), Kulkid has defined a distinct style crossing fluidly between nu-disco and deep house. His latest offering is an affecting and melodic remix of Drake’s unstoppable single “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” which Kulkid’s giving away as a free download for fans. Here Kulkid takes the tempo up and adds in warm sounds of the kalimba.
Earlier this fall Kulkid shared his first two original tracks “U Were The One” with XLR8R and “Have I Ever Told U”, which premiered with THUMP. “U Were The One” features a crisp steel-drum melody rubbing shoulders with a snappy house beat. “Have I Ever Told U” opens teasingly with “crashing waves tinged with a tin-pan drum, but swiftly drops the beach bum act for warped vocals and a rising, glacial synth line.”
Having already shared stages with electronic heavyweights including Fatboy Slim and Bakermat and with several new releases forthcoming, Kulkid is poised to continue his rise as a veritable force in the dance producer community.
One of Black Cloud Music’s newest members has their first project through the label underway and decided to drop some heat for you! Producer Oh Gosh Leotus made a remix of Rich Boy’s track “Throw Some D’s”, originally produced by Polow Da Don. This track is the latest single off of his upcoming project, Sharpie To Your Magazine. No release date has been set up yet.
Nigerian singer Dontom also fondly called The Putuputuone of Africa is back with a Caribbean inspired feel good tune titled Bolingo, in which he combines his exceptional vocal talent with highlife-style production. His ability to incorporate humor into his songwriting is
also showcased on the song and makes Bolingo a certified listener’s delight while evoking a party atmosphere.
Bricksquad Monopoly’s YG Hootie and Top Dawg’s Kendrick Lamar come together on a record that depicts both of their personas in relation to the great leaders Martin Luther King and Malcolm X. As individuals, they were Presidential in their own right. Both leaders shared the same perspectives but took a different approach fundamentally. As do YG Hootie and Kendrick Lamar, who grew up together in Compton. It’s deeper than rap for the “Two Presidents”. Check in for YG Hootie’s project “Destroy & Rebuild” drops February 4th, 2014.
As you sludge through shopping centers this flammulated Friday, why not cue up PUSSYFOOT–your favorite internet-radio show–to ring in the holiday wrangling? The November 2013 finds Matt ‘n Matt dusting off one of the ‘Foot’s most popular packages, the Pussyfoot ‘Pop In’.
First up, BLAKE EVERETT (known in some circles as Blake Clark) tackles a black-and-white road film from salt ‘n peppery cineaste Alexander Payne. ‘Nebraska’–Payne’s latest–stars aging film icon Bruce Dern, SNL-also-ran Will Forte, and a smart-mouthed June Squibb. Blake targets the movie Midwest in an all new ‘Blake at the Movies’. Next, a triumphant return from the highways and byways for one MYSTI MAYH3M. This month, our elegant eulogist remembers a hippy dippy spiritual queen who recently vanished from this Earthly scene. And in an accusatory ‘Eddie’s Sagelike Advice’ EDDIE ROUSE–our Rabelasian radio rocketeer–gets called on the proverbial carpet for his history of suspicious positive thrusting.
Our keynote guest this month is as much a place as it is a person. Matt ‘n Matt pop-in to the self-dubbed ‘exclusively industrial’ town of VERNON, CALIFORNIA. A town bustling with industry (and just 80 permanent residents) Vernon is also home to THE HOLY ANGELS CHURCH OF THE DEAF, a parish bizarrely within a stone’s throw of a slaughterhouse and discount paper towel depot. Replete with digital display screens, a booming soundsystem of pre-recorded vibrato tracks, and a core group of devoted ASL and voice interpreters, Fr. Tom Schweitzer gives Pussyfoot the low down on this personal parish for the deaf community in a fascinating and enlightening PF exclusive.
All that, plus a playlist that’ll have you a flutter this Fall…
So join us, won’t you? Only online at http://www.thehomeofpussyfoot.com
The Black Opera releases a RAW new track “Black Friday” with the announcement of their new Genesis Logo Hoody via TBOHQ on Black Friday. “Black Friday” is produced by the multi-talented Black Spade ofHawthorne Headhunters. This neo-nostalgic track is reminiscent of the classic ‘Timbos and hoodies’ era, back when Wu-Tang Clan was nothing to fuck with. [They still ain't. And neither is TBO.]
