Toronto Public Library Brings Local Music to the Library Toronto’s hottest artists will give free performances and workshops
Toronto Public Library’s local music initiative, Make Some Noise, brings local music to the library with free live performances featuring Grand Analog, Bruce Peninsula,
Timber Timbre and Katie Stelmanis, as well as workshops on DJing, documenting the music scene, and an inside look at the history of the Polaris Music Prize from its founder, Steve Jordan.
“We’re excited to bring the library’s local music CDs to life,” said Youth Collections Librarian Lisa Heggum. “Any hip-hop band that features the venerable kazoo in their music has got to be worth checking out. And Bruce Peninsula and Timber Timbre were both nominated for the Polaris Prize this year, so you know that’s going to be a great show.”
