T.H.R. Launches Online Radio
Independent West Coast Label Launches Online Radio Supporting Underground Artists
Threat-House Records presents the launch of THR-Radio, an online radio station promoting and representing the underground Vancouver and west coast Canadian hip hop music scene. Playing new music by west coast artists including Moka Only, Tre, Tony Joe, Elvis The Rapper, Family Compact, Remarcable, and many others, the station provides a voice for artists who are either established or up-and-coming in the local hip hop music industry. The station is hosted by Tre, who lays down a smooth rotation of west coast grooves, and old-school funk, staying away from the pop and mainstream hip hop that is flooding today’s market. The station can be found online at threathouse.com/radio, and already has plans to expand into the FM and XM markets.
About Threat-House Records
Threat-House Records is an independent record label which was built from the ground-up by Tre, a well-established artist, producer, engineer, and C.E.O. who was born and raised on the Canadian west coast, and has built his empire by appealing to a hardcore underground audience throughout Canada, the U.S., and across worldwide markets
GORILLAZ RELEASE NEW ONLINE GAME AND SINGLE PACKAGE
Gorillaz, the world’s leading animated band release a brand new, multi level online game with their new single ‘Superfast Jellyfish‘
Parlophone has confirmed the release of “Escape to Plastic Beach” – a multi level, multi format game release that takes fans on the Gorillaz journey to their new headquarters on Plastic Beach. The game also includes an MP3 download of the band’s new single ‘Superfast Jellyfish’ taken from their new album Plastic Beach.
“Escape to Plastic Beach” is the first game of its type merging numerous levels of Flash and Unity formats along with a new single MP3 to create an audio, visual, graphical and gaming experience to expand fans’ experience of an album. Increasing the experience beyond traditional album release – the game features original artwork, voiceovers from the band and numerous other tracks from the new Gorillaz album.
“Escape to Plastic Beach” starts by recreating the events from the ‘Stylo’ music video in a free-to-play, 2D online game that sees Murdoc, singer 2D and Cyborg Noodle on their journey from the mainland to Plastic Beach. It continues underwater with Murdoc’s daring underwater rescue of the band, and then beyond taking players direct to Plastic Beach HQ in a challenging eight level, 3D pay-to-play game. The final chapter of the game also includes an MP3 download of the band’s new single ‘Superfast Jellyfish’ featuring De La Soul and Gruff Rhys from Super Furry Animals.
Gorillaz Bassist, Murdoc stars as the main protagonist in “Escape to Plastic Beach” but will also play the game along with fellow members Cyborg Noodle and 2D – posting scores which fans can view and compete against via a global high score table. Fans who bought the “Experience” edition of the album had an exclusive preview of the 3D gliding game chapter as part of the extra content offered via the CD. Experience buyers will also be able to access the entire game in full, for free via their copy of Plastic Beach. Fans can also save their high scores in the members area of www.Gorillaz.com.
Murdoc Niccals himself says:“Hey! This is fan-tastic. Some top-notch gonk gaming company have made a Gorillaz game that you can play free online. It’s all based on Plastic Beach, and it features me, 2D and my cyborg Noodle! What’s even better is that if you pay the £1.50 for the last part, you get our new single “Superfast Jellyfish”, and that’s got ‘Super Furry’ Gruff and the De La Soul boys on it! El Caminos, Boogiemen, ghostly pirate ships, underwater chases, mines, fat cops and gun battles all wrapped up in some snazzy new gaming technology and a great new Gorillaz track too…I mean, what more could you want? Come n’ play with me and Gorillaz onPlastic Beach and see how far that gets you…”
Online games have already proved powerful viral marketing tools for EMI Music enabling them to reach a target audience that have turned off from traditional radio, TV and press communications. This project is another collaboration with worldwide casual/advergaming experts, Matmi, who have pioneered promotional online tactics with EMI for a number of years.

CANADA TECH – World’s first truly secure personal credit card reader keeps PC safe while shopping online
Regina, SK – July 14, 2009 – NetSecure Technologies is proud to offer US consumers the immediate availability of SmartSwipe, a personal credit card reader that keeps your credit card information and identity completely safe when you’re shopping online. Plug the SmartSwipe into your computer’s USB port, visit your favorite online stores, and swipe your credit card exactly like you would at a shop. SmartSwipe then scrambles and encrypts the user’s credit card data before it reaches the user’s computer or internet providing instant protection from malicious software attacks.
Traditional online security only protects your sensitive information once it has reached the internet, but not while it’s sitting on your computer. Credit card companies, online retailers and security professionals spend millions every year to make the internet a safer place for credit card transactions. Despite these constant advances, credit card data is stolen every day due to the vulnerability of personal computers. Hackers and thieves make a living taking your credit card data and personal information right from the desktop.
“Until now, there hasn’t been an affordable and effective solution for consumers to securely protect their credit card data while shopping online” said Daniel McCann, President of NetSecure Technologies. “Hackers have extremely sophisticated methods of circumventing traditional internet security to steal your personal information right from your computer. SmartSwipe facilitates transactions that leave no trace of credit card data, guaranteeing your information remains secure.”
SmartSwipe features simple plug and play installation and also eliminates the need to manually enter credit card information saving time while you shop online. The SmartSwipe works with nearly every major credit card and credit/debit card combination including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. System requirements include Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Internet Explorer 6 or higher. It also features a 90 day no-hassle return policy should you not be 100% satisfied.
The SmartSwipe is available now from SmartSwipe.ca with a MSRP of $99.95. For more information and a brief product demo video, please visit www.smartswipe.ca.
