Chief grew up on Six Nations Indian Reservation in Ontario, Canada listening to hip-hop and R&B legends, such as Snoop, Dr. Dre, 2Pac, Nate Dogg, Mobb Deep, Cypress Hill, R. Kelly and Dru Hill, which inspired him to dream about a career in music. After many years of pursuing his dream, he eventually linked up with one of his inspirations, entertainment icon Snoop Dogg, in 2013 for the notable single and music video “Blowed.”

Aside from preparing the release of his first reggae effort, Reincarnation, Snoop Dogg has now entered the world of video games.
The new combat game Way of the Dogg is based on different Snoop tracks and players will face off to the emcee’s hits in order to get to the next level of the rhythmic-combat game. Snoop is a Kung Fu film fan, so combining two of his favorite things for a creative new game seems to be a perfect fit for the Cali rapper-turned-reggae artist.
“This game shows how we evolve as individuals and they’ve incorporated the journey of my own personal reincarnation as Snoop Lion into my character the environments and the path that players have to follow,” says Snoop.
“Snoop Dogg is a true one-off and from our first creative discussions two years ago the idea of creating an original game concept around his music and love of ‘70s Kung Fu and Blaxploitation movies was a mouth-watering prospect,” says Ciaran Walsh, director at Echo Peak.
Way of the Dogg is a rhythm fighter plays to the beat of a Snoop Dogg-penned soundtrack. It’s set to drop April 23rd, alongside Reincarnated, the film about Snoop Dogg’s transformation into Snoop Lion.
If you love Snoop and own a Playstation or XBox, get ready to get addicted to Way of the Dogg.
Mr. Lion morphed back into Tha Doggfather for this record, resulting in a classic DPG record. The production, provided by Charlie Red, might sound familiar to those of you who’ve been keeping up with Scoe (formerly Roscoe). He released the song “Sunset Strip” last year using the same beat.
In case the name RC Williams or The Gritz doesn’t ring a bell, maybe Erykah Badu’s Grammy Nominated musical ensemble The Cannabinoids does. If you’ve seen Erykah Badu live in recent times, chances are you’ve experienced the talents of RC & The Gritz.
RC and his crew are now going on a solo endeavor and give their fans a first taste of what to expect today. For their first single, RC & The Gritz teamed up with long time friends Snoop Dogg and Raheem DeVaughn for a record titled “That Kinda Girl”.
Produced by Diplo and the Major Lazer production team, “La La La” was recently recorded in Jamaica and is Snoop Lion’s debut song. Releasing soon, Reincarnated sonically represents Snoop’s time in Jamaica where he was positively impacted by both the Rastafarian culture and the Jamaican people who embraced him along the journey of being reincarnated into Snoop Lion.

“Take U Home” featuring Too $hort, Kokane & Daz Dillinger, produced by Meech Wells is from Snoop’s latest album “Doggumentary”. This remix is again produced by Meech Wells, co-produced by Sean Wells, and mixed by Meech Wells. The new remix also contains a new hook from Kokane.
Being the son of Motown legend Mary Wells may have helped jumpstart Meech Wells career, but the West Coast rap producer quickly proved his talent and eventually aligned himself with Snoop Dogg, another relationship that definitely didn’t hurt his career. Before being Snoop’s producer of choice during the late ’90s and early 2000s, Wells began his career as part of a funk band called Trey Lewd that also featured Tracey Lewis, George Clinton’s son. Going on to produce records for multi-platinum artists around the world, such as Snoop Dogg, Shaquille O’Neil, Mark Morrison and No Limit Records family.

While producer and all-around artist Quazedelic has played a crucial role in the Snoop Dogg’s music behind the scenes, a full on collaboration between the fonk monk and Doggfather was destiny waiting to be fulfilled – until now. “Hold On,” off Quazedelic’s upcoming debut LP Stan Sly: AnuthaWorld, has the artists combining their smooth, similar styles from separate genres for the album’s first single. Similar to Snoop Dog’s appearance on of The Gorillaz’s Plastic Beach, the result is soothing combination of funk and hip-hop that takes listeners to another place; in this case, Anuthaworld.
About his own style for the upcoming album, Quazedelic says, “I bridge the gap between serious real life songs with fantasy funk tracks.” That is exactly what he does with “Hold On.” The track opens with a deep, sensual voice, “Looking back in my conscious mind, digging back and searching to find…” The lyrics set up a mystic atmosphere where anything can happen. However, many of Quazedelic’s lyric’s are grounded in reality: “I’m Working hard, praying night and day, that something good might come my way.” Snoop Dog’s lyrics serve as an alternative reality, the id of the song, so to speak. He raps, “So raise up off of me, and let me dip up the streets in my 73/ Grey on black interior, black like me, chandeliers hanging with the ass swinging,” while Quazedelic harmonizes in the background. The spectacular dream-world that snoop dog raps about plays against the pain-filled sound of Quazedelic’s harmonies. “Hold On,” helps explain the purpose of funk, and how it can be used as a vehicle to escape from reality.
Quazedelic’s Stan Sly: Anuthaworldwill be available October 5th via Georgia Anne Muldrow’s and Declaime’s SomeOthasShip Connect.
