Allhiphop called the Super Chron Flight Brothers’ 2007 debut Emergency Powers “daring graffitti”. Okayplayer said “one of the best underground releases of the year”. HipHop Connection magazine proclaimed Emergency Powers “A return to what intrigued about indie rap in the first place” and AllMusicGuide.com hailed it as “provocative, catchy…and an overall fantastic accomplishment”. Earlier this year they returned with the download-only Indonesia, an experimental collage of hip-hop, dubstep and electronica.
Cannibal Ox is the duo of Vast Aire and Vordul Megilah, who, together with Def Jux figurehead El-P created 2001’s The Cold Vein, an album many regard as rap’s last classic album. To say that songs featuring both Vast and Vordul since then have been rare is an understatement.
Newcomers Pastense and Johnny Voltik round out this posse cut, the first taste of Super Chron’s upcoming mixtape Deleted Scenes, a teaser for Cape Verde, their official sophomore album, dropping spring 2010.
