2K Sports has announced the soundtrack for NBA® 2K11, the latest installment in the top rated and top selling NBA basketball simulation franchise. The soundtrack is the biggest and best in 2K history, offering an eclectic mix of upcoming breakout bands and highly acclaimed artists.
The Soundtrack will include not one, but two classics by The Russian Futurists!!! While shootin’ hoops with your home boys you’ll jam to two Russian Futurists tracks in “Paul Simon” (Our Thickness), and “Precious Metals” (Let’s Get Ready to Crumble). The soundtrack also includes Snoop Dogg, Outkast’s Big Boi, Drake, Kid Cudi, Two Door Cinema Club, The Constellations, and The Alan Parsons Project performing the Chicago Bulls’ intro song.
In celebration of the forthcoming brand new single by The Russian Futurists, and soon after – the long-awaited new album THE WEIGHT’S ON THE WHEELS, Matthew Hart is taking his live band out with music homies Caribou to give audiences in Ontario and Quebec a tasting of the new sounds of The Russian Futurists. NINTENDO REFRESHES THE DOG DAYS OF SUMMER WITH UPCOMING COOL GAMES
The summer is heating up, which means it’s a great time for Nintendo to announce some of the cool games it will have available in the coming months for its Wii™ home console and portable Nintendo DS™ family of systems.
Some upcoming Wii games include Metroid™: Other M on Aug. 31, Samurai Warriors™ 3 on Sept. 27, Wii Party™ on Oct. 3, Kirby’s Epic Yarn™on Oct. 17, PokéPark™ Wii: Pikachu’s Adventure on Nov. 1, FlingSmash™ on Nov. 7 and Donkey Kong Country™ Returns on Nov. 21. SEGA Reveals Launch Plans to Bring Marvel’s Mighty Thor Franchise to Gaming Systems for Original Epic Adventure
Thor: The Video Game Launches Marvel Icon in his First Standalone Game Adventure
with Massive Action, Stirring Graphics, and an Original Story
“By Odin’s beard!” SEGA® Europe Ltd. and SEGA® of America, Inc. announced they will bring Marvel’s hall-of-fame franchise Thor™ to video game systems for an epic third-person adventure: Thor: The Video Game, scheduled for release on all five major video game platforms in 2011 including the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, PSP® (PlayStation® Portable) system, Wii™ and Nintendo DS™.
Thor: The Video Game will take players through a spectacular, epic-scale original third-person adventure for which Matt Fraction, the Eisner Award-winning writer and lead Thor comic book author served as story consultant. In the game, Thor battles through the numerous worlds of Norse mythology that span realms ranging from primal worlds of fire and ice to extraordinary planets inhabited by Frost Giants and Trolls to save Asgard, the capital city of the Norse Gods. Thor must overcome monstrous foes lifted from the pages of the comics including Ulik, Ymir, and Surtur, as well as other monstrous denizens. Players will wield the iconic Mjölnir, Thor’s legendary hammer, to fight enemies on an immense scale while controlling the elemental storm powers of lightning, thunder, and wind to vanquish enemies. As Thor earns Valor points through his exploits, players can acquire new abilities, powers, and weapon upgrades.
Each version of the game will be uniquely suited for its platform, with the PlayStation 3 system and Xbox 360 versions featuring cinematic, third-person action gameplay with melee combos, ranged hammer throws, tide-turning elemental powers, and an upgrade system to bolster Thor’s powers as gamers progress. Players will take on enemies up to four times as large as Thor, with multiple grappling points and a variety of strategies for taking them down: go toe-to-toe with a 25 foot tall, 12 ton Ice Trolls for a truly heart-pumping experience.
The Wii game will feature the same overarching storyline as the next-gen consoles, but will also present a different gaming experience by utilizing the Wii Remote™ and Nunchuk™ controllers to battle enemies and deliver Thor’s elemental powers. Thor for the Wii version will also be presented with a uniquely styled comic book look that it will share with the PSP system version, along with different cinematics, story elements, dialog, locations, and dedicated flight levels. Nintendo DS players will experience a 2D side-scrolling adventure with narrative and gameplay unique to the platform.
Brought to the Marvel Universe by the legendary Stan Lee and his brother Larry Lieber and penciled by noted artist Jack Kirby, Thor first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1962. Based on Norse mythology, the Marvel character of Thor became a comic book Super Hero both in his own right and as a member of the Avengers alongside comic book icons The Hulk™, Iron Man™, and Captain America™. Thor: The Video Game marks the character’s progression from mythology to comics to TV and film, and now to interactive entertainment in his first standalone appearance in a game.

First EA SPORTS NHL Title on Wii to Include Hockey Stick Controller
Electronic Arts Inc. revealed today that EA SPORTS™ is developing their first ever NHL® hockey title for the Wii™ Console, NHL®SLAPSHOT, and that NHL Hall of Famer, Wayne Gretzky, will grace the cover.NHL®SLAPSHOT introduces a revolutionary hockey stick controller that allows players to shoot, pass and body check just like the pros. In addition to having his likeness on the front of all packaging, Gretzky will be available as a playable character when NHL® SLAPSHOT is available in retail stores this September.
“EA SPORTS™ has been making great hockey games in Canada for 20 years now, and the team behind the game is really passionate about the sport,” said Gretzky. “Being on the cover of the new Wii version of the game is exciting and is probably going to make me a bit cooler in the eyes of my kids.”
Gretzky is an NHL legend who accumulated a long list of accomplishments and awards during his 21 year career as a player in the NHL. He currently holds 40 regular-season records, 15 playoff records, six All-Star records, and is the only NHL player to have ever recorded 200 points in a season. Since retiring as a player from the NHL, Gretzky has been very active in the hockey world, serving as Executive Director of the gold medal winning, 2002 Canadian men’s national ice hockey team, and acting as a special advisor to the gold medal winning, 2010 Canadian men’s national ice hockey team.

Mario’s Newest Adventure Offers Simultaneous Four-Player Mode, In-Game Guides

Now the launch of New Super Mario Bros. Wii heralds the first time in the history of the series that up to four players can compete at the same time, either cooperatively or competitively.
Packed with beloved characters and remarkable new features, New Super Mario Bros. Wii takes the classic side-scrolling adventure of the Super Mario Bros. series and gives it a manic multiplayer boost. Featuring free-form multiplayer action, players can save their companions from danger or literally toss them right into it. While controlling Mario™, Luigi™ or one of two playable Toad™ characters, players can jump in and join a friend’s Story Mode game at the start of any level.
